AJ Brimson was embroiled in a controversial betting saga on social media on Tuesday after he appeared to post an online betting slip on his Instagram story.
According to The Courier Mail, The Gold Coast Titans star informed his management that the betting account that appeared in the grab was not his and belonged to a member of his family.
There is no suggestion that Brimson has done anything wrong.
The slip showed that the owner of the account had won $10,100 on the Melbourne Cup, wagering a $100 stake on Knight’s Chance at odds of 101.00.
The image also showed a history of other bets that had been distorted in the screen grab, which were alleged to have been placed on rugby league matches.
It is understood that the NRL has been made aware of the image. It is understood that the league are not currently investigating the matter.
The outlet adds that the account the screen grab was taken from belonged to his mother.
The State of Origin star had published the image to his Instagram story, captioning the image: ‘See you at pav’.

Betting integrity rules prevent NRL stars from placing bets on any Rugby League-related matter, from player transfers to match results.
In the past, some players have faced sanctions for breaching the NRL’s betting rules.
Notably, Wests Tigers centre Tim Simona had been deregistered by the NRL in 2017 after he had been found to have bet against his own team.
Simona had wagered money against his own team winning and on opposition players scoring against the Tigers.
Brimson joined the Titans in 2018 with the fullback going on to establish himself as a key face at the club.
He has since made 112 appearances for the Gold Coast, notably returning five tries across 13 appearances this season.

On Thursday he posted a video on his Instagram account of himself on a rooftop bar on the Gold Coast.
He also posed for a snap with Gold Coast Suns AFL star Mac Andrew as they sat on the rooftop bar.
