Krispy Kreme hit Australian shores 21 years ago today, and to celebrate they’re giving away free donuts all day.
Aussies visiting the iconic chain on September 5 can score a free glazed donut, and all you have to do is say ‘hip hip, hooray’ when you enter the store.
For those who want to take the challenge to the next level, they can say ‘hip, hip’ and if another customer says ‘hooray’, then they’ll score a pack of four glazed donuts.
There have already been ‘wild’ scenes outside the stores, with swarms of fans flocking in for free donuts.
The birthday promotion comes ahead of their new limited edition Party Favourites range.
It comes in four flavours: Fairy Bread, Choc Brownie, Cookie Dough and Strawberry Sprinkles.
Fans of the new Fairy Bread donut have dubbed the sprinkled treat, which comes with a dollop of buttercream in the middle, ‘a game changer’.

However, some Aussies are struggling to get their hands on the promotion already.
One woman complained that she missed out on getting a box of free donuts even though there was a full display case.
Another was devastated to hear that South Australian stores weren’t offering the anniversary deal, and some just couldn’t bring themselves to say the words.
‘I’m too socially awkward for this,’ one said.
‘Just give us the donuts,’ another added.
