UFC star Marvin Vettori has announced the passing of his younger brother, Patrick Vettori, who tragically died at 30 in a house fire in Mezzocorona, Italy.
The middleweight fighter shared the news in a long, heartbreaking social-media post with photos of the two over the years.
Marvin Vettori last stepped into The Octagon, losing via decision to Roman Dolidze in a rematch from their fight at UFC 286.
‘You were and will always be number 1 my little brother! You left leaving an unfillable void, I will love you until my last breath,’ Marvin said about Patrick on social media. ‘I don’t think I will be the same after today because maybe I never told you but my strength has always been you.’
‘You were the smartest and most intelligent of the 2, you were creating a wonderful future for yourself and I can’t understand why.’
‘It is said that Jesus calls the most beautiful souls prematurely to have them with him in heaven and so I hope that is the case, that you are there with him looking and watching over us with that goodness that has always distinguished you.’
