A female solo traveller has revealed how she turned up to her Airbnb in Paris – and discovered it was nothing like the pictures.
Bekah, who goes as @festivalstyled on TikTok, took to the social media platform to share a video of herself standing in an apartment, with the caption ‘Paris Airbnb nightmare’.
Talking to camera, she says: ‘I don’t think I’m going to be able to stay in my Airbnb in Paris.
‘I got here, got off the Eurostar, I thought everything was going smoothly.
‘I booked this place last week and it was quite cheap, but I thought that would be because it’s a bit further out, but look what’s inside the room when I walked in.’
Bekah, who’s British and has over 392,000 followers on TiKTok, then panned the camera around to show black mould around the window.
She says: ‘That is so much black mould, I don’t feel comfortable staying in here.’
She then showed an image of what the room was supposed to look like in the pictures, which looked very different from what was in front of her.

She continues: ‘The actual place is fine. It’s really cold though which I feel like is why there’s probably mould, because they’ve not been heating it enough.
‘But I’ve just gone for a wee in here and I don’t even want to stay in here, and the issue is I’ve ordered food to arrive at the same time as me, and it’s still 20 minutes away, and the Airbnb host hasn’t replied to the photos I’ve sent them.
‘I’m so p**sed off, I just want to go to bed. I’ve been out two nights in a row. I’m so ready to go to sleep and this just adds another layer.’
To make matters worse, Bekah then walks past the front door of the flat next door, from which sex noises can be heard.
‘Surely those two people in the room next door are paid actors,’ she jokes in her caption.
Bekah then tells her followers the new Airbnb she’d tried to book rejected her request as they hadn’t cleaned the property, so she had to go to another Airbnb nearby which was double the cost of what she was paying.
‘Hopefully there’s no people having sex in the next one,’ she adds.
In another video, she updates her followers on the new Airbnb, only to find it also has mould on the walls, around the windows.

She jokes: ‘At this point, I’m going to get mould poisoning.’
In the end, Airbnb got in touch with Bekah, having seen her videos, and refunded her, found her a new Airbnb, and also put her up in a hotel for the night, as it was 10pm by the time they were able to sort anything out.
When approached for comment by MailOnline Travel, an Airbnb spokesperson said: ‘We’re disappointed that a guest had this experience and our Community Support team swiftly provided them complete support, including a full refund as well as reimbursement for alternative accommodation and other expenses.
‘With over 2 billion guest arrivals, reports like this are exceptionally rare and the listing was suspended until the host provided documented evidence they had rectified this issue.’
