Jack Quaid proved that sitting courtside at a basketball game might just be the best place to promote a new film as he playfully channeled his character from upcoming flick Novocaine.
Sunday night saw the son of Dennis Quaid and Meg Ryan watch the LA Clippers’ nail-biting victory over the Sacramento Kings alongside his co-star Amber Midthunder.
However, eyebrows were immediately raised as the actor, 32, could be seen with bruising on his face, as well as sporting a cast on his left arm which was being held in a black sling.
As the game progressed, the actor’s situation continued to worsen every time the camera cut to him.
He was soon sporting bandages on his head, as well as a neck brace, before both his arms and hands were seen in casts.
Puzzled sports fans attempted to figure out what had happened and it soon became clear that the stunt was a clever way to promote his upcoming action thriller.

He left fans tickled as he playfully channeled his character from upcoming flick, Novocaine
The actor stars as Nate, a man that turns his inability to feel pain into an unexpected advantage as he fights a bunch of thugs to try and save his kidnapped girlfriend.
As pictures and footage started to spread online, fans were quick to praise the star and the film’s promotional team for the fun stunt.
Taking to X, formerly Twitter, one user wrote: ‘That’s a creative way to promote a movie! Jack Quaid definitely took the “beat the competition” angle to a whole new level. Can’t wait to see how this plays out in the film!’
Another commented: ‘Now that’s commitment to the role! … Hope he made it out in one piece!’
‘Lmfao not gonna lie I love whoever came up with this idea and him for pulling it off,’ a third film lover stated.
One fan wrote: ‘That’s actually a pretty fun original idea! Props man.’

It appears the marketing stunt had the desired effect as one X user stated: ‘This makes me want to see the movie more than before.’
The film also stars Spider-Man-Homecoming actor Jacob Batalon and Smile 2 star Ray Nicholson – who is the son of Hollywood legend Jack Nicholson.
Jack’s team up with a fellow ‘nepo baby‘ comes months after the actor admitted he has no problem owning up to the label.
So far in his career, the actor has racked up over 60 TV and film credits and is currently starring on the hit Amazon Prime Video series The Boys.
However, he acknowledged that being a Hollywood offspring has put him in a ‘privileged’ position.
‘I am an immensely privileged person, was able to get representation pretty early on, and that’s more than half the battle,’ Jack told the Daily Beast in a new interview on Thursday.
‘I knew the door was open for me in a lot of ways that it’s just not for a lot of actors. And I’ve just tried to work as hard as I possibly can to prove that I deserve to walk through that door.’
Jack is also aware of his privilege when he’s up for a role in a romantic comedy, considering his mom Meg is the ‘undisputed Queen of Rom-Coms.‘

‘So if that’s in the rom-com space, it’s got to be different enough, and I need to work my a** off,’ he told the outlet.
Quaid made his film debut in The Hunger Games (2012), alongside Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson, and has since gone on to build an impressive Hollywood resume.
More recently, he starred in the Scream reboot, the biographical thriller Oppenheimer, and sci-fi thriller Companio with Sophie Thatcher.
He will next be seen in action-comedy Heads Of State starring Idris Elba, John Cena and Priyanka Chopra Jonas.
