A United Airlines crew member who treated passengers to some live music as they disembarked the plane has caused a massive divide on the web, with some people slamming the man for forcing people to listen to him.
A traveler posted a video of the moment to Reddit, which showed the unnamed airline staffer playing his violin while passengers waited to disembark the aircraft
The one-and-a-half-minute clip saw passengers sitting patiently in their seats on a United Airlines flight, while people further ahead of them in the cabin took their bags down from the overhead compartment.
As they did so, the man waltzed up and down the plane’s aisle playing his instrument.
‘Fiddler and the friendly skies,’ the happy passenger wrote alongside the video.
‘Just landed in SFO and heard something as we awaited passengers to deplane… It was a definite pleasant surprise and welcome change compared to all the news we hear from airlines these days.’
While person who posted the video loved the serenade, not everyone agreed.
‘Yeah, this type of s**t would make me pretty upset on a flight… we’re trapped in a steel tube, and this MF thinks everyone wants to hear his bullshit,’ one Reddit user raged in a comment.

‘What a sly move. He has everyone sitting, captivated by his music, while he slowly walks down the aisle with anyone in his way and exiting the plane first,’ joked someone else.
‘This would be annoying as hell. Can’t imagine breaking out into song on any instrument on a flight,’ declared another person.
One user branded the entire scene as ‘unsettling,’ with another jokingly suggesting it was reminiscent of the Titanic.
However, other people thought it was a sweet way to pass the time.
‘Of course super mean people as usual telling him to sit down and shut up,’ one wrote.
They continued: ‘My guess is he actually likes the passengers and is very friendly and kind.
‘Not like he’s making much with working at one of the lowest paying mainlines. Yet he has a good attitude despite it. How about you stfu? Good day.’
‘Should be standard on all flights,’ another gushed.

It’s not the first time passengers have been treated to some live music as they disembark.
In 2023, a live music session broke out from a flight from Dublin, Ireland, to New York.
One woman had a fiddle, while a man played an accordion to create the traditional Irish jig – but not everyone enjoyed it.
Rather than welcome the impromptu trans-Atlantic music session, many said it was an awful thing to subject other humans to.
The video was posted by marketing worker Adam Singer on X, formerly known as Twitter, at the time.
‘Aer Lingus flight from Dublin to JFK yesterday. I mean, I understand it’s done from a good place, but also feel like you don’t play music (or much worse, sing) in an enclosed space there’s no escape from,’ he wrote in the post.
