A popular dessert chain has announced the closure of its last store after seven years in business, devastating fans.
Lukoumades in Hyde Park, South Australia is best known for its mouthwatering Greek doughnuts covered in a delicious selection of toppings, including caramel, chocolate, honey, fruit and nuts.
But the long-loved brand shared the devastating news in a heartfelt Instagram post that shocked fans.
The business thanked loyal customers who have stuck by throughout difficult times.
‘It has been a great seven years filled with highs and lows,’ the post read.
‘However, we have made a difficult decision and have decided that our time has come to an end at Hyde Park.
‘This is affective (sic) immediately. We want to express our gratitude to you all for supporting us.’
But the brand still has its operating dessert truck and ‘hope to trade at as many events as possible’ to continue to offer the mouthwatering sweets to customers.

In addition to the tasty doughnuts, the shop also sold loaded thickshakes, chocolate fondue, ice cream and savoury options such as fried halloumi chips.
Customers were shattered after reading the post on social media and took to the comments to share their condolences.
‘Oh no, my kids are going to be devastated,’ one wrote.
‘Oh that’s so sad to hear. Hope to see you guys back at a permanent location,’ another commented.
‘They certainly are delectable and hope to see you around at events,’ a third said.
‘So sad when great businesses close,’ someone else wrote.
In 2020 the Henley Beach store in Adelaide’s western suburbs was destroyed in a fire, causing $300,000 worth of damage as reported by The Advertiser.
Emergency services were called on January 30, 2020 at 2am and arrived to the store in flames.
The store closed and never reopened, along with other locations including Norwood and Kensington.
