People have been left shocked by a hauntingly desolate and expansive view of the ‘edge of Vegas at night’ – after a resident shared the reality of living in the famous city.
Tiani Shaye, who recently went viral for showing what the famous tourist destination looks like from over her backyard wall, has responded to commenters’ requests to see the edge of Sin City at night time.
In her latest TikTok, she walked down a tarmac road in the pitch black ahead of the big reveal.
Then came footage of a row of homes – before panning around to reveal a completely pitch black desert.
‘There’s the houses and you can actually see the stars,’ she said in the video. ‘Super pretty. You can’t see the stars in the middle of Vegas but you can see them out here.’
After swinging the camera back around to face her Tiani said: ‘And that’s it, that’s what it looks like.’
In a previous TikTok, she revealed her inspiration for offering a glimpse into the little-seen perspectives on the Gambling Capital of the World.
‘So I live on the edge of Vegas and I’ve seen a couple of TikToks of the airplane view of how Vegas just ends and it is kinda weird that it just ends,’ she explained. ‘So, I’m gonna show you what it looks like from the ground view.’

Tiani showed herself walking down a street on the edge of Las Vegas in the pitch black before turning the camera to reveal the view

When Tiani showed the expansive desert that surrounds Sin City hardly anything was visible besides a few twinkling stars
Similarly to her video taken at night, Tiani started by showing a road lined on one side by houses before turning to reveal the far-reaching desert.
While doing so she said: ‘So, you got the houses here, right, and then it just goes.’
She then zoomed into the distant mountains while saying: ‘And that is the edge of Vegas. Pretty mountains over there.’
The Nevada resident admitted that the design of the city could be perceived as slightly odd – but she likes it just as it is.
‘It is kinda weird that it just ends but honestly I love living on the edge of Vegas,’ she explained.
‘It’s quiet, it’s peaceful, there’s not a lot of commotion. I love that every single time I drive over here it just goes all the way out like that, it’s beautiful.’

Las Vegas residents have been surprising the internet with the realities of living in Sin City which stops so dramatically before opening up into the barren desert
Both the night and day time videos have received hundreds of comments with many people imaging what horrors could occur in such an isolated location.
‘Think how many bodies are out there,’ one offered, while another added, ‘my toxic trait would convince me someone is watching me every night from nowhere.’
Tiani responded to some practical questions in the comment section.
One viewer asked: ‘Ok, so…do you have issues with snakes, scorpions or criminals? Also how far from ‘town’ (grocery stores/restaurants/movie theaters etc) are you?’
‘Haven’t seen any snakes,’ she revealed. ‘Not much crime here either and the closest grocery store is less than 10 min down the street haha still so convenient!’
But despite her praise for the area Tiani did admit that they get visits from some desert creepy crawlies, adding that she has ‘seen more spiders than scorpions’.
Another viewer asked: ‘Do you ever see people walking out there?’
Tiani replied: ‘Not really in this spot, haha. Mostly people just off-roading with their toys! But in other spots nearby you have a lot of hikers and mountain bikers.’

Several viewers were shocked by the sudden end of Las Vegas and wondered what could be going on out in the open desert
Despite some viewers expressing concern others said this would be their dream location to settle down.
One person wrote: ‘This is 100 per cent exactly where I want to live. Tell me about the cost of living please.’
‘Am I the only one who thinks it looks peaceful and would be happy to live there,’ a second questioned.
Another added: ‘It’s beautiful. The desert at night and day are mesmerizing.’
Tiani’s video comes after several other Las Vegas residents have shared their backyard views of the desert.
Crystal Wojtowich shared her own clip, in which she similarly opened up her back door to reveal a high brick wall surrounding her patio.
After showing her backyard she then took the camera over the wall to reveal a barren desert behind.
One person under Crystal’s video likened the view to a horror movie – The Hills Have Eyes – which follows a family targeted by cannibalistic mutants when their car breaks down in the Nevada desert.
Meanwhile, other viewers of the TikTok admitted that they’d prefer greenery in their garden, with one person writing: ‘I absolutely couldn’t do it. I need TREES and WATER.’
