Fans are convinced that Jennifer Garner made a thinly-veiled dig at Blake Lively just months before the It Ends With Us legal war kicked off.
Last year, Garner, 53, famously reprised her role as Elektra for the summer blockbuster Deadpool & Wolverine, which also starred Lively’s husband Ryan Reynolds and featured Blake’s voice acting as Ladypool.
The Marvel film hit theaters at around the same time as Lively and her co-star/director Justin Baldoni‘s drama-plagued film It Ends With Us.
In December, Lively accused Baldoni of sexual harassing her on set of the film as well as orchestrating a ‘smear campaign’ against her. Along with denying Lively’s allegations, Baldoni fired back with a $400million defamation lawsuit, which both she and Reynolds have recently tried to have dismissed.
While Garner has no involvement in the headline-making court drama, she did appear to take a playful jab at Lively in a resurfaced social media clip from August.
In the video, which was originally uploaded to Garner’s Instagram, the actress pretends a statue of a ‘witch’ is Lively while giving fans a tour of the Deadpool & Wolverine set.
DailyMail.com has reached out to representatives for Garner for comment.

Fans are convinced that Jennifer Garner made a thinly-veiled dig at Blake Lively just months before the It Ends With Us legal war kicked off
‘This is where I go to commune with Blake Lively. [Let’s] see how she’s doing,’ says Garner before turning her camera to face the stone effigy.
She then says to the inanimate sculpture: ‘How you doing, Blake? You lookin’ good!’
It’s important to note that the statue is actually of Marvel star Elizabeth Olsen‘s character Scarlet Witch, which was first seen in the Darkhold Castle in Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness (2022).
While many fans believed Garner was just being silly on set, others speculated on TikTok and Reddit that she was trying to call Blake a ‘witch.’
There doesn’t appear to be any documented drama between Garner and Lively.
Lively even previously co-starred with Garner’s ex-husband Ben Affleck in the 2010 film The Town while they were still married.
It’s unclear if Garner and Lively ever met during the shoot for Deadpool & Wolverine as Lively only did a voiceover for the film, which earned over $1.3billion at the worldwide box office.
Garner was noticeably absent from Deadpool & Wolverine’s New York premiere in July, which both Lively and Reynolds attended with co-star Hugh Jackman.

The resurfaced clip of Garner comes just weeks after an old video of Reese Witherspoon appearing to shade Lively in 2011 went viral on social media.
The video in question, which made the rounds in TikTok, shows Witherspoon, 49, seemingly referencing Lively’s nude photo scandal while taking the stage at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards.
Lively was also in attendance at the ceremony – which occurred just days after purported nude images of the Gossip Girl star were leaked online.
A rep for Lively insisted at the time that the grainy X-rated snaps were ‘100 percent fake’ and that Lively had ‘never taken nude photos of herself.’
But that didn’t stop Witherspoon from seemingly throwing a dig at Lively as she ranted about ‘bad girls’ in Hollywood during her MTV Generation Award acceptance speech.
‘I get it, girls, that it’s cool to be a bad girl. But it is possible to make it in Hollywood without doing a reality show,’ the Legally Blonde star began.
‘When I came up in this business, if you made a sex tape, you were embarrassed and you hid it under your bed.’
She then added: ‘And if you took naked pictures of yourself on your cell phone, you hide your face, people.’

Viewers were convinced that Witherspoon was taking direct aim at Lively as well as Kim Kardashian, whose infamous 2007 sex tape had catapulted her to stardom.
But a spokesperson for Witherspoon attempted to shutdown the chatter by telling Us Weekly that the actress ‘was absolutely not referencing Blake Lively’ in her speech.
While they’ve never worked together, Lively and Witherspoon have been the subject of wild, unsubstantiated ‘feud’ rumors in recent years.
Last year, it was alleged by Life&Style that the duo were competing to produce their pop superstar pal Taylor Swift’s directorial feature film debut, which was confirmed by Searchlight Pictures in 2022.
‘Blake Lively and Reese Witherspoon both want this job and both of them have deep ties to Taylor,’ a source told the tabloid.
While Swift is ‘close personally to Blake,’ Witherspoon is ‘far more experienced at producing movies’ and even collaborated with Swift on Where the Crawdads Sing (2022).
Lively is currently gearing up to make her big TV comeback this week amid her raging legal war with Baldoni.
She is scheduled to face off with in Manhattan US District Court for a sexual harassment and defamation trial beginning March 2026, but the general public have already sided with him.

Lively is currently in the midst of a legal battle with her It Ends With Us co-star/director Justin Baldoni, who she accused of sexual harassing her on set of the 2024 film as well as orchestrating a ‘smear campaign’ against her; Baldoni and Lively seen on set in January 2024

Along with denying Lively’s allegations, Baldoni fired back with a $400million defamation lawsuit, which both she and Reynolds have recently tried to have dismissed; Baldoni seen in November 2024
And on Thursday, Lively will make her triumphant talk show return on Late Night with Seth Meyers to promote her latest film Another Simple Favor.
It will mark her first talk show appearance since she went public with her allegations against Baldoni in December 2024.
She last appeared on Meyers’ NBC late-night program in 2016 to promote her horror flick, The Shallows. She also filmed an episode in 2015 to promote her drama film The Age of Adaline.
Lively reprised her role as bride-to-be Emily Nelson, who’s somehow free after being sentenced to 20 years in prison for the double murder of her father and sister, in the Italian-set sequel premiering this Thursday on Prime Video.
Paul Feig’s mystery murder flick currently has a 79% critic approval rating (out of 34 reviews) on Rotten Tomatoes.
Another Simple Favor also features Anna Kendrick, Henry Golding, Andrew Rannells, Bashir Salahuddin, Joshua Satine, Michele Morrone, Elena Sofia Ricci, Elizabeth Perkins, Alex Newell, and Allison Janney.
The first film A Simple Favor scored a ‘certified fresh’ 84% critic approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes and amassed $97.6M at the global box office.
Last Thursday, Megyn Kelly publicly blasted the Deadpool & Wolverine actress for being dubbed an ‘influential titan’ at the Time100 Gala in Manhattan.
‘She shouldn’t be here,’ the 54-year-old podcaster exclusively told DailyMail.com on the red carpet.
‘It’s a ridiculous joke. She shouldn’t be here.’

Megyn continued: ‘I think she launched a fake Me Too allegation against [Justin Baldoni], and she’s lived to regret doing it, because virtually every allegation she has made has fallen apart.
‘So for her to be honored for doing that, to try to ruin a man over absolutely nothing, is a scandal.’
As more evidence is revealed, Blake – who requires ‘authorship’ on all her films – appears to have masterminded a takeover of the It Ends with Us script, wardrobe, score, and editing departments by threatening to pull out of promoting the domestic violence drama.
Last August, Lively faced substantial outrage over her treatment of journalists, sarcastically answering questions about DV in her movie, and floral-filled Barbie-style promotion directly tied to her haircare and booze brands.
