- McDonald’s Australia has launched a Tennessee BBQ range
- Two new burgers are available from today 30 April
McDonald’s Australia has unveiled its newest limited-edition menu item inspired by the bold, smoky flavours of America’s Deep South.
The Tennessee BBQ Burger is available in restaurants across the country from Wednesday 30 April.
The new burger promises to bring a taste of Nashville-style comfort food to Aussie diners – without the need for a passport.
While the name might sound American, the ingredients are proudly Australian as the burger features 100 per cent Aussie beef, crispy golden onions, fresh lettuce, a tangy honey mustard, and a generous layer of smoky BBQ sauce, all served on a soft classic bun.
For those with a bigger appetite, McDonald’s has also released a Double Tennessee BBQ Burger, which comes with twice the amount of beef and cheese, for what they promise is a ‘flavoursome punch’.
Marketing Director for Menu and Brand at McDonald’s Australia, Amanda Nakad, said the new burger was designed with bold flavour-lovers in mind.
‘There’s even more Macca’s to love on the menu with the mighty Tennessee BBQ range,’ she said.
‘For those looking for something a little bit extra in their burgers – this one is for you, but be warned, it packs a flavoursome punch!’

The launch is part of a wider campaign to offer exciting new twists on classic Macca’s items, with limited-time releases driving eager customers to stores.
It’s also a chance for the fast food giant to spotlight its long-standing relationships with local producers.
‘My family and I have been working alongside McDonald’s for 25 years now,’ said Edward Proudford, a cattle farmer from Narrawa, New South Wales, who supplies beef to Macca’s.
‘We’re a 100 per cent Aussie family providing 100 per cent Aussie beef to Macca’s customers.’
The Tennessee BBQ range is available only while stocks last, and can be ordered in restaurant, via the self-serve kiosks, in the drive-thru, or through the MyMacca’s app.
Social media is already buzzing with fans eager to try the new creation, with many saying it could become their new favourite.
But with no set end date and limited stock, this smoky Southern-inspired burger could vanish as quickly as it appeared.
So if you’re craving something different this autumn – something smoky, saucy, and a little bit country – McDonald’s latest burger might just hit the spot.
