Skyscanner has just revealed the world’s most walkable cities and there are plenty you’ll want to add to your bucket list.
The research focuses on up-and-coming city destinations so expect to uncover some unexpected hidden gems.
Skyscanner’s experts looked at a range of factors including the number of walking trails, the air quality, the crime rate and the distance between top attractions.
From a ‘wonderful’ Spanish city with a UNESCO Old Town to a picturesque fairytale-like destination in Eastern Europe – these are the world’s most walkable cities.
Cordoba, Spain
A beautiful city located in the heart of Andalucia, Skyscanner describes Cordoba as a ‘wonderful’ place to ‘visit and explore on foot’.
It’ll take tourists just 26 minutes to walk around the city’s main attractions. Top on the list of landmarks is La Mezquita, Cordoba’s ‘incredible mosque’.

Despite the city’s devastating past, Hiroshima is now a thriving metropolis and tourists won’t want to miss Okonomimura food hall to try some some local delicacies.

Reggio Calabria, Italy

While Monaco’s casinos are world-renowned, tourists can also check out the Oceanographic Museum of Monaco or the Private Cars Collection of HSH Prince of Monaco.

Located in the north-west of Turkey, Bursa is a fantastic walkable destination for tourists looking to escape the beaten track.
Skyscanner reveals: ‘Today, you’ll find Bursa is a fusion of Ottoman heritage, bustling bazaars and natural beauty.’
It’ll only take tourists an hour to walk between the city’s main attractions, which include its Grand Mosque and the Tomb of Osman Gazi, the founder of the vast Ottoman empire.
After exploring on foot, tourists can head to the Royal Springs to soak in Bursa’s ‘renowned hot mineral waters.’
Bolzano, Italy

It’ll take tourists just over an hour to walk between Bolzano’s main attractions
The second Italian destination on the list, Bolzano in the north of the country is ‘set in a valley surrounded by hilly vineyards’, explains Skyscanner.
It serves as the gateway to the Dolomites but it’s worth exploring some of the city centre’s attractions before heading off for a skiing or hiking adventure.
It’ll take tourists just over an hour to walk between Bolzano’s main attractions which include the South Tyrol Archeological Museum and Santa Maria Maddalena Church.
According to Skyscanner’s research, Bolzano is also one of Europe’s safest destinations for a holiday.

Bosnia and Herzegovina’s capital is ‘compact and walkable’, says Skyscanner, with tourists able to walk between its main attractions in just over 20 minutes.
The travel experts say: ‘Take a walking tour to discover Sarajevo’s history and relax in one of the many cafes to sample its famed coffee culture.’
Top attractions include the Bascarsija bazaar, an Ottoman-era marketplace in the centre of the city, and Sarajevo city hall.
