While prominent figures including JK Rowling have been celebrating the Supreme Court‘s monumental ruling that the legal definition of a ‘woman’ is based on biological sex, the decision has been met with sadness by pop star Paloma Faith.
‘Being female is a mindset, it’s not just about genitals,’ opines the Londoner.
‘Being a woman is a dangerous experience, being trans is that and more.’
The Only Love Can Hurt Like This singer adds: ‘I fear for my friends who will now be in terrible danger and have a deep sense of sadness too. I have never felt threatened by any group other than cis [cisgender] men.’
Faith, 43, who has two daughters with her ex-partner, French artist Leyman Lahcine, believes in gender-neutral parenting and has previously said: ‘One of my kids might still end up being trans.’

Bianca gives icy review
Bianca Jagger is protesting about an unlikely target this week: The Connaught Hotel in Mayfair.
Sir Mick Jagger’s ex-wife has voiced her frustration at being served stale sandwiches in its famous Jean-Georges tea room.
Afternoon tea starts at £85, going up to £135 with a glass of Dom Perignon. Bianca, who was visiting with a ‘dear friend’ from the US, says: ‘The manager came to apologise and assured us the chef would prepare a fresh batch. Shockingly, they were the same cold, stale sandwiches as before.’
A spokesman for the hotel, a royal favourite, says it ‘strives to deliver the highest quality service standards at all times’.
Former Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams believes people who claim to be Christian but don’t adhere to the faith are committing a cardinal sin. ‘You are not called on to admire Christianity,’ he says of cultural Christians. ‘You are called on to love God. There is all the difference in the world between those things.’
I favour ‘old-fashioned’ romance, says TV star

Former Made in Chelsea star Kimberley Garner says there’s ‘nothing more attractive’ than a man who will go up to a woman and speak to her face to face
Potential suitors vying for the attention of Kimberley Garner will stand a strong chance if they take a traditional approach.
‘A cute guy came up to my mum after I left the coffee shop and asked if he could give her his details for me,’ reveals the former Made in Chelsea star turned swimwear designer. Kimberley, 34, tells me: ‘There’s nothing more attractive than a man who’ll go up to a girl in a coffee shop, or in the daytime, and chat to her face to face.’
‘I don’t really like this online dating app thing,’ she explains, adding: ‘Old- fashioned romance is the best way.’
Captain Cressida cruises on canal

Prince Harry’s ex-girlfriend Cressida Bonas with her property investor husband Harry Wentworth-Stanley
While environmentally conscious Prince Harry and Meghan still like to travel by private jet on their quasi-royal tours, the Duke of Sussex’s ex-girlfriend, Cressida Bonas, and her husband seem to prefer a humbler mode of transportation.
In a picture Cressie, 36, shared online she could be seen with property investor Harry Wentworth-Stanley, 35, journeying on a canal aboard a blue and red barge with ‘Lady C’ inscribed on the side.
The actress and podcast host is pregnant with the couple’s second child. The pair already have a son Wilbur, who is two.
