A Tennessee school custodian was horrifically stabbed to death outside her school on Monday as cops have launched an urgent manhunt for her estranged husband.
Candido Raul Rubio-Perez, 54, is being sought by cops after he allegedly fatally stabbed his wife Niurka Alfonso-Acevedo, 52, on Monday morning outside Chadwell Elementary School in Nashville.
Police say they believe Rubio-Perez was waiting for Alfonso-Acevedo in the parking lot of the school, where she worked as a custodian.
The attack took place before children arrived for the school day, and friends say they fear she was being stalked by her estranged husband who knew her schedule.
Alfonso-Acevedo’s loved ones claim she was in an abusive marriage and her husband had beaten her on numerous occasions, and he had allegedly sent her to hospital with one attack on Christmas Day.
That incident reportedly almost caused her to lose one of her eyes, and while she kicked Rubio-Perez out of their home, friends said she didn’t go to the police over fears of breaking up her family.
Friend Jorge Felix told WSMV that Alfonso-Acevedo continually rejected her estranged husband’s attempts to get back together, including calling her the night before she was stabbed to death.
‘He called her asking for another chance, but she said no,’ he explained.

Rubio-Perez allegedly fled the scene after the stabbing, and police have issued a $5,000 reward for information leading to his arrest.
Alfonso-Acevedo was left dying in the parking lot before she was found by a school staff member.
Felix said fears over Alfonso-Acevedo’s marriage led a friend to call her every morning when she got to work to make sure she was safe.
He added that Rubio-Perez ‘knew she was the first person at the school because of her job.’
In a GoFundMe set up after the shocking stabbing, one of Alfonso-Acevedo’s own children pointed the finger at Rubio-Perez and accused him of a ‘cowardly act.’
‘She was a fighter and much loved among all those who knew her,’ the fundraiser read.

Felix said that when her friend called her on Monday morning, they heard the horrific sounds of her stabbing taking place.
‘He could hear her asking him not to hurt her, don’t hurt her,’ Felix added, saying he then raced to the school as soon as he heard, but found his friend had been killed.
Turning to the camera, Felix said he had a message to the alleged killer: ‘Raul, turn yourself into the police and face the consequences.’
In a statement following the stabbing at the school, Metro Nashville Public Schools said its ‘thoughts are with the victim’s family, friends, and the entire Chadwell Elementary community during this time of loss.’
