An undertaker allegedly raped his female colleague next to a corpse at a funeral home, a German court has heard.
Bodo G., 68, is accused of raping another undertaker, a 41-year-old woman, next to an open coffin with a female corpse inside at a funeral home in Bavaria in Germany.
He allegedly raped the woman three times – in front of the urn storage facility, inside the funeral parlour and on the wooden pallet of a coffin decorator – in spring 2022.
The prosecutor alleges that Bodo G. told the woman ‘I want to f*** now’ before the rapes.
‘He always wanted to grope me, every day. He called me in on the weekend and said: “My c**k is itching, come on now”,’ the woman told the trial at Nuremberg regional court on Wednesday, German newspaper Bild reports.
When he allegedly raped her for the first time, it happened right next to a corpse. ‘I found it disgusting that the deceased was still there. It disgusted me so much,’ the woman said.
She said she then cleaned herself up with tissues intended to wipe the tears of funeral guests.
Bodo G., who is married with children, denies the rape charge and said he didn’t ‘need to’ rape the woman since he has sex with his wife twice a week, highlighting that it would ‘always’ be with a condom.

‘She fished a condom out of my trash and dumped the contents in the morgue so that the criminal investigation department would find it there,’ the undertaker, who has since left the funeral home where the rapes allegedly took place, told the trial.
The woman said she told him she was a lesbian, but claims Bodo G. countered that nothing could happen since he’d been sterilised.
He also allegedly got aroused at a funeral when a bereaved family member wore a thong.
He confirmed his sterilisation during the trial, but said it was ‘absurd’ that he would get ‘excited about corpses’.
Bodo G. later fired the 41-year-old undertaker, saying it was because she did not want to work nights, was unable to write eulogies and also failed to play the violin during the funerals as she promised.
The woman is reportedly receiving treatment for a post-traumatic stress disorder following the alleged rape.
The verdict in the case is expected at the end of April.
