Fans of The White Lotus are speculating Walton Goggins has blocked his co-star Aimee Lou Wood on Instagram, as speculation mounts over what may have caused the co-stars to fall out.
The actors portrayed star-crossed lovers Rick and Chelsea on the latest season of the HBO show, with both their characters dying in the dramatic final episode.
But something appears afoot between Walton and Aimee, as it appears they are no longer following each other on Instagram.
Fans are even speculating Walton may have blocked Aimee because her comments and likes on his past posts have disappeared.
However, previous comments from Walton are still visible on Aimee’s posts.
According to Instagram Help Center, comments and likes are removed when you block someone on Instagram. When you block someone, their likes and posts will be removed from your photos and videos. Unblocking somone does not restore their previous likes and comments.

Aimee Lou, who boasts 2.6m Instagram followers, has been passionately sharing behind the scenes photos and reposts from her co-stars throughout the third season, with Walton also sharing his own set memories.
And in their posts they have both enthusiastically tagged their co-stars – every one but each other.
They are both still following all the other cast members from the show.
They both followed each other during filming and left comments on each other’s posts – including some with a fox emoji, with fans speculating as to what this could mean or refer to.
Aimee posted a stunning selfie in July 2024 with Walton commenting: ‘A natural born [fox emoji] inside and out.’

Walton wrote several flattering comments under Aimee Lou’s Instagram posts which can still be seen – at least two of which including the fox emoji which fans have speculated has a special significance between the pair
On another of her posts, he wrote: ‘You are the brightest light in every room. A human’s human. Miss you’ along with two fox emojis.
On another post, he wrote: ‘Next level this is. I could watch you all day. So excited to watch.’
Fans have speculated the fox emoji – which Aimee Lou also used in now vanished comments on Walton’s posts – is an ‘in-joke’ between the pair with a hidden meaning.
The fox emoji is also often used to indicate someone has done something sly, or clever – or to say someone is ‘foxy’ and has sex appeal.
In an HBO Max video where Aimee Lou and Walton answer ‘getting to know the cast’ questions, they are both asked what animal they would be if they were reincarnated. Both actors replied they would be a fox, and that the animal truly represented who they are.
Then, at the February premiere of The White Lotus, Aimee Lou continued the ‘in-joke’ by wearing a custom made Burberry gown covered with a fox motif.
Several online gossip sites have posted blind items purported to be about the pair which has fuelled speculation of a falling out.
Now, Reddit, TikTok, and X are full of threads dedicated to theories about why the pair may have had a behind-the-scenes falling-out.

One user shared on Reddit: ‘I feel like no one is talking about the falling out of them?
‘They unfollowed each other on Insta a couple weeks ago, Walton posts White Lotus stuff and tags everyone in the photos except Aimee Lou Wood, posts a whole tribute to White Lotus and still doesn’t tag her, posts tons of pictures of her on his story in a commemorative tribute to the show. What happened?’
Another X user wrote in amazement: ‘Aimee Lou Wood follows 5,160 people on instagram and none of them are Walton Goggins…
On X, one viewer weighed in on an album of behind-the-scenes photos Walton had posted to Instagram.
‘Walton Goggins not tagging Aimee but tagging everyone else… WHAT HAPPENED,’ they wrote.
Particularly perplexing to some fans was how Walton had apparently posted a sweet — and extensive — set of photos of himself and Aimee to his Instagram Stories, set to the soundtrack of a famous break up song.
‘Obsessed with Walton Goggins posting an 18 slide instagram story of photos of him and Aimee Lou Wood set to Silver Springs by Fleetwood Mac….’ one X user wrote in astonishment.

Walton has been married to wife Nadia Conners since 2001 and the couple are parents to 14-year-old son Augustus.
The actor’s family joined him in Thailand for some of filming and were seen in a beach snap with him and the rest of the cast.
Whilst Walton and Aimee have not spoken about any strife in their offscreen relationship, other castmembers have hinted at discord during the seven month shoot in Thailand.
Jason Isaacs who plays trouble family patriarch Tim Ratliff, has been the most outspoken, admitting the experience of filming White Lotus was ‘a cross between summer camp and Lord of the Flies but in a gilded cage’.
‘Some people got very close, there were friendships that were made and friendships that were lost,’ he told Vulture. ‘They say in the show, ‘What happens in Thailand stays in Thailand,’ but there‘s an off-screen White Lotus as well, with fewer deaths but just as much drama.‘
Refusing to name names, Jason continued: ‘I became very close to some people and less close to others, but we still all had that experience together and there’s a certain level of discretion required.’
The British actor was asked about his intriguing comments in another interview with The New York Times, published this week, and he reiterated that the shoot ‘wasn’t entirely blissful.’

The penultimate episode of the season saw Walton Goggins’ character Rick reaching the end of his quest to find the man who killed his father

The decision to stay at the resort ultimately led to Rick and Chelsea’s demise, as the episode concluded with Rick shooting Jim after another run in at breakfast

Whilst the pair have not spoken about any strife in their offscreen relationship, other castmembers have hinted at discord during the seven month shoot in Thailand
‘Obviously people formed friendships, but we weren’t one great big homogenous happy family. It was a large group of people away from home, unanchored from their normal lives. I’m not going to break ranks and say who did what to whom, but it certainly wasn’t a holiday.’
Aimee Lou herself has spoken about her difficulties on set, calling the experience ‘claustrophobic’ and a ‘Truman Show social experiment.’
The Brit actress admitted the intensity was caused by ‘the lack of distance’ between playing Chelsea and clocking off once she wrapped her scenes.
‘Normally when you wrap, you go home. With this, you wrap and walk five steps to your room. You’re living where you’re filming. It is the Truman Show. It starts to feel like that – [you start to question if] anything is real? Everything starts to feel like a set,’ she said.
She continued: ‘I understand why the performances in the previous two seasons are so [good] because the lines get very blurred and it all gets a bit claustrophobic, so you have to really rely on each other to keep sane. Is it a bit like Big Brother [but with] all these Hollywood actors. It feels so odd.’
Aimee Lou formed close friendships with some of the cast, most notably Leslie Bibb, who she shared a room with and travelled with during breaks from fiming.
Whilst she did her best to have some social life away from the intense filming schedule, Walton took a different, more method, approach to the shoot.
Speaking on the show’s compantion podcast, the actor said he isolated himself on set, thanks in part to his character.
‘Showing up to work every day with 18 people and a green room that’s full of chairs of 18 people that are in a much different place emotionally than I am at the beginning of the story was very difficult… More often than not, my chair is separate.’
‘I sit on my own. I do my own thing… But I just couldn’t, I couldn’t be around them. They didn’t understand why I was there. This guy is isolated… And that wasn’t any fun, you know, to separate yourself from a group in that way. That was really, really challenging.’

Recalling a day off with the rest of the cast, Walton explained how Aimee didn’t want to be a part of his ‘negative’ energy away from filming
Recalling a day off with the rest of the cast, Walton explained how Aimee didn’t want to be a part of his ‘negative’ energy away from filming, choosing instead to hang out with her younger castmates.
‘We were all on this boat, and I just had such anxiety about getting on this boat because there’s nowhere for me to hide. I’m a claustrophobic person by nature, and Rick is a claustrophobic person.’
‘And so I just camped out on the front of this boat. The view was incredible, and I just filled it full of negative energy, so that no one wanted to be around me’.
‘At one point, Aimee, not being mean or anything, leaned over and just said, ‘you know, you’re no fun. I want to be with them’, meaning Patrick and the other characters, and and I, I was like, thank you, God. Thank you for saying that, you know, because that’s exactly how I want you to feel.’
Whilst he went method in his approach, there was another, tragic reason for Walton’s complictated emotions during the shoot.
He had previously escaped to the country two decades ago following the suicide of his first wife Leanne Knight in 2004.
‘I spent the next three years looking for an excuse—not to end it, but certainly putting myself in situations that were questionable, not with drugs or anything like that, just life experiences and traveling. And I really went all over the world.’
Those travels included India, Vietnam and Cambodia, but the adventure began in Thailand.
‘The first island we were staying on, I realized, I’ve been on this road before,’ he said of returning to the surroundings that were more familiar than he had anticipated during production.
‘And then the next island we went to, I realized, ‘I’ve definitely been on this beach before. I know this boardwalk.’ And all of the things kept coming back.’
‘I think I haven’t had the time to fully unpack the symmetry between those two people showing up at the same place, separated by 20 years.’
Whilst Walton intentionally separated himself from Aimee, who he didn’t meet until filming thanks to Mike White’s refusal to do chemistry tests with his cast, the two did appear to build a bond through their scenes together, with Walton telling People in a February interview: ‘We both became enmeshed in each other, the way that Rick and Chelsea are.’
Then in March he told The Telegraph that he knew the actress would be ‘a very special person in my life,’ and described her as being, ‘on some levels, a soulmate.’
Aimee meanwhile told Vanity Fair that the two became ‘very close’ and explained during filming ‘there was a lot of personal mirroring going on [with Walton.’

But music critic Carl Wilson offered a more measured take, suggesting that the apparently unfollowing was just an example of how tempestuous actors can be
‘We’ve not had the same lives as them, but everyone’s essence is pretty similar to their character.’
The relationship appears to have shifted since the shoot wrapped last year, with Walton missing from press events.
Music critic Carl Wilson has offered a measured take on the feud rumours, writing: ‘Everyone on here reading tea leaves on Walton Goggins & Aimee Lou Wood clearly has never met actors, who are constantly emotionally over the top with each other, until they move on to their next job and don’t even keep in touch.’
To mark the tragic final episode of season three, Walton shared a lengthy, thoughtful caption on Instagram along with stills of the couple.
‘With the heaviest of hearts… To me, ours was a love story. It was only ever a love story, hindered by unresolved, childhood trauma. We all have them… but can we move past them. In the depths of our despair there is always beauty around us. If we can sit with our pain, just sit with it… not react… not be defined by it…It’s there… the love the world is constantly giving in any given moment is there. Always waiting for us to see it… Trust me I know,’ he wrote.
Elsewhere in the message, he spoke to Wood directly, writing, ‘Thank you Aimee Lou for being my partner… a journey I will never forget.’
Aimee also shared her two cents about the characters’ on Instagram.
She wrote that she considered season three to be a portrait of two characters who were ‘nuts,’ while still being a sweet ‘love story.’
‘Both can be true. It’s all of it,’ she continued, while clarifying that it was Rick and Chelsea’s ‘self-destructiveness’ that led to their deaths.
