Virgin Voyages’ CEO has admitted that the brand ‘made some mistakes’ when it first launched in 2014.
The adults-only line equipped every cabin on its maiden voyage with a box of sex toys which included vegan lube, a vibrator and condoms.
While the brand remains adults-only, customers will no longer find free sex toys in their room.
Speaking to The Telegraph, CEO Nirmal Saverimuttu said: ‘I’d be the first to admit that when we launched the brand we made some mistakes.
‘We were not thoughtful about certain choices we were making around some of the onboard programming and small details that ended up getting so much amplification that they ended up defining what the product was.’
Nirmal said people got the impression that the cruise line was a ‘very narrow product with a very risque kind of feel to it.’
The sex toys might have gone but the brand is still known for its playful and fun take on cruising.
Guests can take part in sunrise yoga sessions or head to a late-night pool party.

The ship even has a tattoo artist onboard for sailors who want a permanent reminder of their holiday.
Its largest cabin, the Massive Suite, comes with a ‘personal music room’ equipped with guitars and has a hot tub on the balcony.
Richard Branson said in January: ‘Everything about Virgin Voyages is how we dreamt about it years ago.
‘It’s the wonderful feeling you get when you walk on the ship, the wow factor, the fact that it’s not massively overcrowded like some other monster ships, all the wonderful restaurants…magnificent workout areas…wonderful dancing.’
Saverimuttu added: ‘We don’t have a dress code. We don’t have any stuffy formalities. People don’t want to dress up for dinner every night.
‘We want to go to dinner in jeans and a shirt. It’s a relaxed vibe onboard our ship.’
Virgin Voyages is set to launch its fourth ship in September. The Brilliant Lady will sail to several new destinations for the line, including New York, LA and Alaska.
