Triple M breakfast star Beau Ryan announced on Friday he will be going on leave for several weeks to host Channel Ten‘s The Amazing Race.
The veteran presenter, 39, confirmed the news on-air to his co-star Aaron Woods, 34, and told him he had gotten a special fill-in presenter to take over his role.
‘I’m jetting off for a bit, taking off to do The Amazing Race,’ Beau told Woodsy, who then asked who would be filling in for him in the interim.
‘Great question. [News reporter] Cat Lynch and I have had a couple of great conversations, we have a great fill-in!’ Beau said.
He added they wouldn’t reveal the presenter’s identity just yet to maintain the mystery.
‘He’s good, fun and he actually really loves you Woodsy. It is exciting and he is going to bring plenty of energy,’ he said.

Beau has hosted The Amazing Race Australia since it premiered on Channel Ten in 2019, five years after Channel Seven cancelled the series.
He is the second person to leave the Triple M breakfast show this month, following Natarsha Belling sensationally stepping down from the program.
Belling, 54, announced she was leaving her new breakfast radio show with co-hosts Beau and Woodsy just six weeks after it launched.
The presenter wished her colleagues all the best in her shock statement and revealed she was offered another job with LiSTNER podcast The Briefing.
‘Thrilled to announce I’ve been offered an amazing new opportunity to join the team @thebriefingpodcast for the Afternoon edition,’ she wrote on Instagram.
‘We are living in one of the most dynamic news cycles in history, from cost of living to Donald Trump to Chinese warships off our coast.
‘This new gig perfectly aligns with my passion for journalism and the exciting new frontier of the podcast world.’
She added: ‘It also allows me to continue with my commitments for The National News at Noon on Channel Seven, which I absolutely love.

Beau’s exit comes just weeks after veteran presenter Marty Sheargold was sensationally axed following comments he made about the Matildas in February
‘Unfortunately, it means I will farewell @triplembreakfast. I wish Beau, Woodsy and Cat all the very best and thank our loyal listeners for their support.’
Triple M Breakfast with Beau, Tarsh & Woodsy was announced at the end of last year and has only been on the air since January 20.
Natarsha’s sudden exit from Triple M came just a week after veteran presenter Marty Sheargold, 53, was sensationally axed following comments he made about the Matildas in February.
Triple M was faced with an advertiser boycott which threatened to cost the radio station an eye-watering amount of cash in the wake of his ‘sexist and disgusting’ rant.
Following the Matildas recent loss to USA, Marty told listeners ‘there’s something wrong with the Matildas’ before he compared the team’s attitude to ‘Year 10 girls’.
He then suggestively asked whether superstar striker Sam Kerr and her fiancée Kristie Mewis ‘play the same position’.
His co-hosts tried to steer the discussion back to the team’s performance at the SheBelieves Cup.
‘She believes in what? It better be men,’ Marty said, before the conversation moved to Australia’s hosting of the women’s Asian Cup next year.
‘Oh god. The Asian Cup. I’d rather hammer a nail through the head of my penis than watch that. Got any men’s sport?’ Marty declared.
His outburst was described as ‘outrageous’ by interim Matildas coach Tom Sermanni, and there was an immediate backlash from sponsors wanting to distance themselves from the comments.
A campaign by an activist group with thousands of followers was launched shortly after the remarks went to air, which attempted to put pressure on three major advertisers to pull their slots from Marty’s Triple M show unless it ditched him.
