Candice Bergen‘s husband Marshall Rose has died aged 88.
The Sex and The City star’s spouse, who she wed in 2000, passed away peacefully at home in New York surrounded by loved ones on Saturday February 15,
He died from complications with Parkinson’s disease after ‘many years of extraordinary strength and resilience’, an online obituary read.
The real estate magnate and philanthropist is survived by his wife Candice; his children Wendi and Andrew; his step-daughter Chloe; and his grandchildren Alexander, Clio, Ell, Milo, Arthur, and Alice.
Bergen, 78, was previously married to film director Louis Malle from 1980 until his death from lung cancer in 1995. They share one daughter, Chloe, 40.
Life-long New Yorker Marshall was born in Brighton Beach in 1937. He studied economics at City College, received a law degree from NYU, and later an honorary degree from CUNY.

One of Candice’s most famed roles is as Vogue editor Enid Frick in Sex and The City and spin-off, And Just Like That…
He forged a career as a real estate developer and advisor to non-profits, and founded The Georgetown Company in 1978 which went on to oversee the development of projects including Frank Gehry’s IAC building and the renovation of Madison Square Garden.
He spent 30 years on the board of the New York Public Library.
Rose’s family lauded his ‘legacy of fierce compassion, stubborn persistence, and commitment to cheering on the Knicks. His wisdom, strength, and generosity of spirit will be remembered by the countless people whose lives he touched.
His funeral will take place at Central Synagogue on Tuesday, February 18th, at 12pm.
